Aims & Scope
What International Journal of Administration and Management publishes, and who it is written for
The International Journal of Administration and Management (IJAM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published twice a year, in June and December, by the College of Administrative and Business Studies (CABS), Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, Niger State, Nigeria.
The journal exists to advance rigorous, evidence-based knowledge of how organisations are administered and managed, in the public sector, in private enterprise and in the third sector. It is international in outlook and welcomes work from any country, while giving particular attention to scholarship that engages the administrative and managerial realities of Nigeria and the wider African continent. IJAM values research that is analytically serious and, at the same time, useful to the administrators, managers and policy makers who must act on it.
IJAM publishes empirical, theoretical and applied work in public administration, business administration and the management sciences. Subjects of particular interest include public administration, public policy and governance; local government administration and development administration; public sector accounting, budgeting and financial management; e-governance and management information systems; business administration and organisational theory; organisational behaviour, leadership and organisational change; human resource management and industrial relations; strategic management and corporate governance; marketing and consumer behaviour; accounting, auditing, banking and finance; financial management and investment analysis; entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprise development and cooperative management; operations, production, procurement and supply chain management; project and contract management; office technology and management; risk management and insurance; business ethics and corporate social responsibility; educational, health services and hospitality administration; and the management of technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The journal welcomes original research articles, theoretical and conceptual papers, critical review essays, methodological papers, case studies of organisations and policy interventions, research notes and short communications, and book reviews. Quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods designs are equally welcome, provided that the design, sampling, data collection and analysis are reported in enough detail for the findings to be independently assessed.
Manuscripts submitted to IJAM must be original, must not have been published elsewhere, and must not be under consideration by any other journal. All submissions are screened for plagiarism and subjected to double-blind peer review. Papers whose subject matter falls outside the fields listed above, and papers that offer description or opinion without an identifiable analytical contribution, may be declined without external review.
Articles are published in English and are freely accessible online at no charge to readers.
Manuscripts falling outside the scope above may be declined without review. If you are unsure whether your work fits, read the author guidelines or contact the editorial office.
